Deborah: I do not have a copy of the marriage license/certificate for the 12 May 1804 marriage of Rebecca Pate and John Pate.I picked up the Kinchen Felts-Surety/Bondsman note from some printed index (book or on-line). Helen Pate Ross, in her second book on PATE, page 493, notes that subject license is in Sussex Co VA Marriage Book ?, Page 115. I am deeply interested in the FELTS surname as it is connected in many ways to the PATE surname in Sussex/Southampton Co VA and Warren/Wilkes/Columbia/Taliaferro Co GA. My g/f was Boyce FELTS Pate of Taliaferro Co GA.     3. Nathaniel Felts daughter Elizabeth also married a Pate. Unfortuneately he didn't mention the names of their husbands. I think she married Thomas's brother John.
