What evidence exists that the P. L. Pate listed as a son of Harris and Margaret Pate in the mid 1800 censuses is the Peter Pate who married Martha Covington enumerated in Richmond Co., NC , later enumerated as a convict in Anson Co., NC, and later back with his family in Marlboro Co., SC. I have P. L. listed as Peter in my records but got that out on the net before I was aware of the importance of evidence. Any assistance in pointing me to a document that states the fact in question, or at least collateral evidence would be appreciated. Joe 2G of Harris
