Former Weleetka Man Passes Away in Texas Melvin Odell Pate, of Snyder, Texas, died at his home Saturday after a brief illness with pneumonia. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pate of this city. He was born in Weleetka, August 12, 1904. He grew to manhood here at Weleetka, and married Miss Lillian Ellison November 11, 1927. They made their home here until 1929, when they moved to Lucky, Okla., and then in 1938 moved to Eunice, New Mexico. In 1946, they moved to Snyder, Texas. He had been employed in the oil fields for a good many years. Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pate;, the wife, Mrs. Lillian Pate; and one brother, Marvin Pate of Edmond, and a neice (sic) and nephew. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. O. Bigabie (sic), pastor of the First Baptist church, Monday afternoon at 2;30 p.m., and the internment was made in the Hillcrest cemetery, Weleetka Funeral Home in charge.
