    2. Death of Mrs. Susan Hankins Pate. Death claimed Mrs. Susan Hankins Pate Wednesday after a long illness. Susan Hankins was born November 19, 1855, in Jamestown, Ark., and was married to Bird Pate at Jamestown November 3, 1878. To this union were born 5 children, three boys and two girls who are all surviving her except one son. They are, Mrs. J. W. Lassiter of Kingston, Okla., Mrs. Jennie Barnes of Desha, Ark., who was unable to be here on account of illness, J. R. Pate and William Pate of Weleetka survive her. Mrs. Pate was converted and joined the Baptist church at Jamestown in 1988 and has been a member of the Fist (sic) Baptist church here since moving her in 1920. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church here Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. J. M. Parker, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating, assisted by H. E. Peters. Internment was made in the Hillcrest cemetery. The pallbearers were Messers: E. F. Cumbie, R. M. Coleman, H. B. Skinner, I. C. Coryell, Jazz Rasberry and W. W. Blackburn. The honorary pallbearers were: Mesdames Albert Gardner, E. F. Preigel, Thomas Padden, R. B. Walker, Will Johnson and John Thomas. Nita's Notes: The 3rd son mentioned in the obit must have died at birth or young. He was not noted in any of the census records we have found. Mrs. J. W. Lassiter was Mollie Pate. J. R. Pate was John Robert Pate.
