Dead is Donald Pate, 71, who died at Cox South in Springfield. Tpr. Myron Downey said a 2010 Honda ATV driven by Claude G. Von Plueren, 63, of Plato, slowed to make a left turn when a 2004 Honda ATV driven by Pate struck it in the rear. The impact caused the Pate-operated ATV to overturn, ejecting him, Downey said. Pate was taken to Fort Leonard Wood General Hospital and later transferred.
