Walter Pate Published: Saturday, July 17, 2010 7:12 AM CDT Services were held for Walter L. Pate at 10:30 a.m. July 16 in at the Burden Baptist Church. The Rev. John Harms officiated. Military committal honors were provided by a Ft. Riley Color Guard and American Legion Post 10 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3544, both of Winfield. Casket bearers were John's friends at the Burden Baptist Church. The congregation sang "All Is Well." Other music selections included "Love Can Build a Bridge," performed by The Judds, and "I Can Only Imagine," by Amanda Harms. A fund has been established to help defray funeral expenses. Miles Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
