Clovis, thanks for the encouragement. Where in any state do they keep the Archives>? I live in Tx and have so many here I can't find. I envy you and your sister getting to go look for yours. That is such fun. One of my ancestors died at Birds sland Hospital in Richomnd VA of the measles. t the Archives I asked if there was any records about where they were buried. he man at the desk said yes but no one had ever found an ancesotr on it and aid I would be wasting my time. But I insisted on looking at it anyway. And lor nd behold I found him and the grave # where he was butied at Oakwood Cemetery n Richmond. When we had the 2008 Pate Convocation my sister and I were able to ocate his grave and make pictures. At one time the graves were marked with hite crosses. Nove the have about a 6 or 8 inch square with the number on top. t was one of the highlights of our trip. hen you go to the Archives in any state let the people working there guide you ut insist on seeing things they think might not yield anytime and look at it nyway. They are good and helpful but they can't possibly be aware of all the ources or possile sources. The next day one of my traveling companions realized he also had an ancestor that died in Richimond. She listed politely tell her he would be wasting her time, but she insisted and she found hers also. Two out f thousands is not bad in genealogy. -- lovis ------------------------------ o unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] ith the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of he message
