Funeral services were held at Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Friday, July 30, 2010, beginning at 10: A.M., with interment following in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Elder Fred Gordon and Dr. David Benton officiated. Ms. Pate was born in Worth County, GA on May 10, 1945, to the late Eddie B. and Ollie V. Poole Medders. Living in Worth County all of her life, she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and being a grandmother. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. Her survivors include her husband, Charles Pate of Sylvester; her son, Chad Pate (Brooke) of Sylvester; her grandson, Charlie Pate of Sylvester; a sister, Freda M. Swinson of Norman Park, GA; a brother, Eddie Nelson Medders (Linda) of Sylvester; her mother-in-law, Minnie Pate of Sylvester; her brothers-in-law, James Glover of Ty Ty, GA and Benson Kimbrel of Sylvester; a sister-n-law, Marilyn Potts (Bob) of Doerun, GA; her aunts, Lola Poole of Tifton, GA and Dorothy Medders of Sylvester; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pate was preceded in death by two sisters, Ilene M. Glover and Edna M. Kimbrel. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Avenue, Albany, GA, 31701 or to the Albany Community Hospice, 2332 Lake Park Drive, Albany, GA, 31707.
