This information has been posted on the Listserve several times, but I am reposting it now for the benefit of new subscribers and as a reminder to others. There is an opportunity to acquire long out-of-print works by some of our great Pate genealogists. These are works that many never had the opportunity to obtain before, or perhaps were not even aware of. They are published on CDs in searchable PDF formats, with very attractive labels: "Thomas Pate, d. 1774, Sussex County, Virginia" by Helen Pate Ross. 632 pages. The definitive work on this ancestor. He is an ancestor of Joel Pate. Contact: Joel Pate [email protected] [Of course, orders for this work should be delayed until Joel's recovery is complete.] "Pate Pioneers" by Clovis Byars Herring. A quarterly journal of Pate genealogy, published from 1986 to 1991. All 22 issues. Contact: Clovis Herring [email protected] "The New Pate Pioneers" by Bernard Dudek. A quarterly journal of Pate genealogy, published from 1996 to 1997. All 9 issues. Contact: Bernie Dudek [email protected] Please contact each person directly to purchase your copies. In addition to the above works, Harris B. Pate III, with the assistance of his wife and son, videotaped our Pate Genealogical Convocation which was held in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, September 12-14, 2008. This was a very generous and unselfish effort on their part, and truly a gift to the extended Pate family. This Convocation brought together the leading Pate genealogists for the first time in our family's history, including Joel Pate, Clovis Herring, Bernie Dudek, and Dr. Jim Peacock. Unfortunately, Jinks Pate-Lee and Helen Ross Pate passed away just a few months before the Convocation. The Convocation was attended by over 70 people from every part of the nation. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The DVD set for the Convocation is a permanent record of this historic and memorable event. It includes 7 disks, which will be shipped in an 8-disk case. The DVDs are an audio/visual recording of about 14 hours total. They cover the Convocation in its entirety, also including the dinner at the Thomas Pate House in Yorktown and the dedication service for the Thomas Pate memorial marker in the historic cemetery of Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown. The picture quality is excellent. I watched the DVDs on a small-screen TV, and then played them on my large-screen HDTV, which displayed it full screen without distortion. The quality was high on both screens. The 7-DVD set is priced at $45 for the first set. A second copy is priced at $40. All copies thereafter are priced at $35 each. All prices include priority mail postage. These are basically priced for Harry to recover his out-of-pocket costs in producing these sets. Do not miss this great opportunity to acquire a permanent record of this historic event in the Pate family to preserve it for future generations. Place your orders directly with: Harris Pate 59 Dogwood Ct. Surry, VA 23883 You can send checks or money orders. Please no cash or credit cards.
