Lindy, I appreciate the report on your test results. We can use some encouraging news. As you know, FTDNA's comparison of your/our results is limited only to those who have also taken the test. In this case, four members of the Pate DNA Project have received their results, and results for four more members should be received in the next few weeks. Hopefully, all of us will soon be seeing some matches within our Pate families. I have been exchanging emails with Bennett Greenspan, president of FTDNA, about our results (or lack thereof). He is advising more patience as their global database grows for the Family Finder test, including the pending Pate results. We would like to have you as a member of the Pate DNA Project. It would only take minutes (or seconds), and there is no additional cost. The Family Finder test does provide a means for females (and non-Pate males) with a Pate bloodline to become full members of the Project, other than through their mtDNA. Since FTDNA is in the early stages of developing this test, they have not yet announced a means of displaying these test results on the Project's website. I think you can join the Project directly from your personal "myFTDNA" page. If you choose to join and encounter nay difficulties, please let me know. A. J. I have had the most luck with the "speculative relative" category than the "close & immediate" category. The biggest problem I have had is that a lot of the people I have matched with have not uploaded surnames or gedcoms. I have matched (5th cousin?) with a descendant of my William Batte & Agnes Burchett family. I have not found any Pate relatives so far (that I know of.) Although a little disappointed, I am not sorry I took the test.
