I agree with you on this. I do not and will not go near Facebook or any other social site. Those problems I can not handle. I read the Pate list and although I will never find the William B. Pate that I seek, I still read this site.. ellen I think the best place is [email protected] is our best bet, as well as > exchanging things via our pvt. email addresses.? Here we have the files
No one is trying to move this list, Ellen. No one ever mentioned any such thing. All that was mentioned is finding a place to share pictures that CANNOT be attached to any plain text message posted on this list. We can't even use HTML on this list and embed the pictures. so we are merely looking for a venue to be able to share them so ANYONE searching can access them, not just people on this list. The irony of this search for me is the fact that William B. Pate has a sister, Josephine Joannah Pate and she is the ggrandmother of my husband. I know where she is buried and I have known and spoken to some of her family but they do not seem to know where this Wm. B. Pate died and is buried. Odd situation since I know the father of these two was Joseph Pate and the mother was Melinda? Birthdays, etc. I have but physcial location for him (Wm B.) is a lost cause. thanks for answering my msg. ellen > No one is trying to move this list, Ellen. No one ever mentioned any such >
Ellen - some of our Pates were lost in wars - they were POW/MIA - and some opted to be cremated and have their ashes blown to the winds or scattered over several places. So might that be where you lost your William B. Pate? Nothing is every positive, however my mother-in-law writes in her memory book about him coming to visit them and teaching them how to read music. She was born in 1906, Josephine (sister to Wm B. born in 1856, Cobden, Union County Illinois)) died in 1914 in Carter Co, OK. and is buried in Springer Cemetery. William was in the 1900 census in Indian Territory (Chickasaw Nation) census and he had a different wife at that time and still listed on the census as a Miner. Mining was done in Oklahoma but more in the Eastern part of the state and not in the south central which is where they were living and had lived for a long time. (My mother-in-law was born as were her brothers and sisters in Carter Co, OK. Some before statehood and some after. Just a mystery as well as an example of young people not asking question and later having regrets. Thanks for the reply to my msg. ellen Ellen - some of our Pates were lost in wars - they were POW/MIA - and some > opted to be cremated and have their ashes blown to the winds or scattered > over several places. I have a William Bruen/Bruin Pate in my line. Do you think he might have gone to Arkansas? My Wm. B. Pate is buried in Batesville, AR. I do have a photos of his stone. Do you know who he married or anything like that? I'll look in my stuff later to see who his father was. They all died before I was a thought, but I have heard lots of tales I could share. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Monday, July 26, 2010 6:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [PATE] Facebook Cancellation The irony of this search for me is the fact that William B.
