    1. [PATE] Report on the Family Finder test results
    2. AJ
    3. Joe Neal Pate, R. Carter Pate, and I have received results from our FTDNA Family Finder tests in the last few days. The results are extremely disappointing at this point. They failed to disclose any Pate ancestral connections between us. None of us have recognized any striking breakthroughs on our other ancestral surnames either. There are three matching persons on my list that I may contact, but not sure if there will be anything of value. Four more members of the Pate DNA Project are waiting for their results. It is my hope that their results will provide information that we are seeking. One member, Brenda Green, was the first to receive results from her test, and she has been generally pleased with her results, though at this time has not gained any new information on her Pate genealogy. I strongly urge anyone considering this test to wait until more information is provided and results from all current orders have been fully analyzed. More information will be provided when the results from all current orders have been received and evaluated. A. J. Pate Group Administrator Pate DNA Project

    3. AJ, I took the Family Finder test also and received my results June 29th. I have had the most luck with the "speculative relative" category than the "close & immediate" category. The biggest problem I have had is that a lot of the people I have matched with have not uploaded surnames or gedcoms. I have matched (5th cousin?) with a descendant of my William Batte & Agnes Burchett family. I have not found any Pate relatives so far (that I know of.) Although a little disappointed, I am not sorry I took the test.
