I have always viewed Memorial day in the light that all of the Allies at that time gave blood and treasure to stop the growth of tyranny. Wars have an impact on Genealogical studies and shouldn't really cause a lot of fuss in research activities. I have found that "off topic" subjects die quickly, if listserve members are not intent on "stirring the pot" Tom, you "jammed the stick in the wasp nest".... Back your ears and endure the stings.
