    3. Hi, Joel, Thanks. Any guesses about where Mary Jane Carraway Pate is buried? I seem to remember someone once suggesting somewhere in Louisiana. 3. Sharlotte: My GUESS is that Mary Carraway Pate died after the 1880 census in Anderson Co., TX and is buried there. She was living there in 1880 and was enumerated in the household of her son James Benton Pate and dau Nancy A Pate (Goen). Her daughter, Rebecca PBass ux of Matt (Madden) Bass was also nearby. James Benton Pate was back in Tyler Co., by 1888 and died there 1921.If his mother stayed with him, she PERHAPS died and is buried in Tyler Co. IF she stayed with her daughter, Nancy A Pate Goen she MAY have moved to Brazos Co., TX. Best GUESS - Tyler Co. Joel On 6/18/2010 5:54 PM, Donnelly wrote: > Hi, Joel, > > Thanks. 3. I have a question for anyone who would care to contribute information on genealogy research. I have a friend who wants to start searching his "roots". He asked what gen sites he should join. He wanted to know which site had the best information for the money. It has been years since I have really dug. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I have already cautioned about undocumented records. I wish someone had been frank with me about record keeping back in 1985 when I started. Thanks, Grace Wisdom
