Margaret Ann (Rouse) Pate (1942 - 2012) Margaret Ann (Rouse) Pate Citronelle, Alabama Margaret Ann Pate, born June 28, 1942, died May 10, 2012 in Hattiesburg at the age of 69. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Whatley Holiness Church on Sand Ridge Road in Citronelle, Alabama. Ann lived in Citronelle and was a homemaker and beloved grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winick Rouse and Sue Miller; her two sons, Michael Pate and Bruce Pate; and a sister, Linda Hallmark. She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Gillman of Dallas; three grandchildren, Amanda Brannan and her husband, David of Citronelle, Angela Gillman and Kyle Gillman both of Dallas; a great-grandson, Zane Brannan of Citronelle; a daughter-in-law, Donna West and her husband, Johnny of Citronelle; and her caregiver, Gail Rolen of Hattiesburg. Sidney Kirby Pate, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born September 21, 1925 in Jackson. He spent his youth in Mississippi until he attended Tulane University and Tulane University Law School and he continued to live in New Orleans practicing title law. Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Covington, LA. He was a devoted and much loved husband, stepfather, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was an avid reader, history buff and collector of all manner of facts. Mr. Pate enjoyed fishing and was an excellent skeet shooter. In 2003, he was honored with the Louisiana State Bar Association's 50 Year Membership award. He was a long-standing member of The Boston Club and Comus, Momus and Rex carnival krews. And he was a wonderful cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Oscar Pate and Ethyl Kirby Pate; his brother, Henry Payson Pate, his sister-in-law, Isabella Glenn Pate; and his niece, Elise Pate Glisson. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara Hodgins Pate; her daughter's family, Emily and Tom Mosley and grandson, Matthew of Ridgeland; his nephew, Henry Pate (Karen) of Vancleave; great nephew, Bryant Glisson; and great nieces, Courtney Glisson, and Carrie and Laura Pate. John Fleming Pate, 83, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008, at his home. Visitation services will be today from 5 - 7 p.m. at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12 - 1 p.m. at Baldwin Lee. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Cemetery. Mr. Pate was a longtime resident of Jackson and member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served as a Marine during WWII and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He worked as the District Manager for the Social Security Administration, retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Pate was an avid world traveler, traveling over 160 countries and territories. He was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Pate was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; and his son, Mike Pate. He is survived by three sons, John Pate (Gwen), Hilton Pate and Stephen Pate; grandchildren, Andy Pate and Layla Pate; one great granddaughter, Lana; and his sister-in-law, Beverly Carr. Isabella Glenn Phifer Pate, 89, died Tuesday September 4, 2007 in Madison. She was born September 3, 1918 in Jackson and lived most of her life there. Mrs. Pate worked in public relations and then served as Dean of Women for her alma mater, Millsaps College, followed by a stint at Unifirst Federal Savings and Loan Association, and then as corporate secretary of Field Co-Operative Association, Inc. She continued her family's membership at St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral, but she left to help found St. Stephens Reformed Episcopal Church. Mrs. Pate was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Smith Phifer and Corinne Elise Williamson Phifer; her brother, Calhoun Phifer; and her husband, Henry Payson Pate, II of Jackson and New Orleans. The family wishes to thank each of her friends for their many kindnesses to her over the years. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Sidney K. Pate (Barbara) of Covington, La.; her son, Henry P. Pate, III (Karen) of Vancleave; her daughter, Elise Williamson Pate Glisson (Allen) of Oxford; her grandchildren, Chalmers Bryant Glisson of Louisville, Ky.; Courtenay Locke Glisson of Nashville, Tenn.; Carrie Virginia Pate and Laura Patricia Pate of Vancleave. Visitation will be today from 11:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Bob Matheny officiating.
