    3. Bob, I don't know much of what MyTrees/Kindred Connections have to offer in the way of databases, census records, etc., but they do want you to subscribe. The rate is $5 for 10 days; $15 for a month; and $100 for a year. As an alternative to paying they give you an option of "banking" hours by transcribing information for them. So, if you use that feature (they give you the image and you extract the data & submit it to them) it might be worth a 'look-see'. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Pate To: PATE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, April 18, 2005 6:32 AM Subject: [PATE GENEALOGY] Question about Web Site I received an offer to use a research web site. 2. Found this in the library of Congress: Reade's go back to King Alfred The Great. This is also Queen Elizabeth ll's line. Mathew Pate married Anne Reade 1707 VA. it says that Anne Reade was the daughter of George Reade and that his father was Robert Reade and his mother was Mildred Windbank. This is all that is written on the napkin. It was written by my brother in law who passed away in 1996. Thought it was interesting. Margaret Lindly

    2. Lindy. When you were checking out the Henry Co. GA deeds for Charles Hulsey did you find a deed for 15 August 1823 Henry Co. GA page 473? Could this be Butts Co.? I have deeds 15 August 1823 page 473 and 21 January 1826 page 170, both listed for Henry Co. GA. I am unable to locate the deeds. When we moved to AZ in 2000 the movers lost two boxes of Genealogy papers. I have know idea what was in those boxes. I also have Charles "Huisey" Hulsey born 2 July 1756 Goochland VA (Douglas Registry) and daughter of Joseph Smalley (name unknown) as father and mother of Charles Hulsey, husband of Nancy Pate. 2. I have not found a copy of the license for Rebecca Pate and Jennen Hulsey yet. I would like to quote this from Helen Pate Ross 5 May 2000 to Pate - L. : I am interested in the Pates in Lincoln Co. GA as a possible connection to the Putnum , Jasper and Henry Co. , GA . Most of my records are currently stored away, but there was a William Pate and a Rebecca Pate dismissed from a Baptist Church in Lincoln Co. (GA) , about 1805/1806. This may have been the husband and wife , but could have been father and daughter. Shortly after getting the letter of dismissal from the church, a William Pate shows up in Putnam Co. (GA) , where a Rebecca Pate (1788 - 1827) married Jenneus Hulsey in 1806. Also a William Pate died in Henry Co. GA in the 1840's and the division of property was made, no wife was mentioned. The Hulseys also resided in Henry Co. GA and where Jennus died in 1850. Helen she did not have the childrens names at her finger tips , so would not name them. Peterson Pate ( 1785 - 1848) married Rebecca Heath 5 July 1810 in Putnam Co. GA. This interested me that there was a possible chance that Rebecca may have been Peterson's sister and that William married Catherine as a second wife. There is enough age difference between Rebecca and Nancy that this could be so. Of course this is speculation. Margaret Lindly

    3. I was researching in some Walton Co GA deeds the other day and saw some William Pate deeds, but did not make abstracts since I was busy working on another family. After reading this message, I wonder if it might be the same William Pate since Walton was next to Henry at one point before Henry divided. If anyone's interested, it is GDAH microfilm 122/31, Walton Co GA Deeds F-G 1825-1828, p38, 393. The deed on pg 38 was Jan 1825. Another interesting I have located is an original land warrant for a William Pate 5 Aug 1777 for 200 acres in Wilkes Co. On the front: "State of Georgia, To Thomas Chisolm Esq Surveyor General. You are hereby directed and require to measure, or cause to be admeasured and laid out, unto William Pate two hundred acres of land in Wilkes county upon Rocky comfort including his own improvement..." On the back it says "William Pate 200 acres Precept[?]" "Yr Petr may the within __[?] be renewd in the name of Abner Tatom and will widy[??] _[?]c. 3. Joel, Do you have a copy of that marriage bond of John Pate and Rebecca Pate showing Kinchen Felts as bondman? In Margaret's records; Rebecca's uncle Thomas listing of children didn't show a "John", but quite surely there would be other siblings in the community besides Edward and his brother Thomas, that may have a son John. The name of Kinchen Felts as bondman would make sense also as Thomas' wife Mary was a Felts. Could there be another child of Thomas & Mary after Jordan 1773, that would be the closer age to Rebecca 1785? Also Edmund's name, in Margaret's list of Edward's children, was not mentioned in the will. Is there record of death for him? This puzzlement feels like it's on the edge of being changed....soon maybe deb -----Original Message----- From: Helen Pate Ross <ross@empowering.com> Sent: Apr 10, 2005 8:28 AM To: PATE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PATE GENEALOGY] Pate/Hail REbeccah Pate aughter of Edward Pate had a son Burrell no mention of who his father was .
