    3. The Thompson Cemetery is just off the intersection in Thompson where state route 171 northbound takes a left turn toward Susquehanna, for a landmark, the old "Thompson Hose Company" firehouse is at that corner; to get to the old old entrance to the cemetery, make a right turn at that intersection instead of the left. There is an old, overgrown driveway that branches off to the left, about 1/8 mile from the turn. The sign overhead the driveway is easy to miss, quite old and deteriorated, just the spooky thing to scare little kids (like I was twenty five years ago!). There is another old, and virtually abandoned cemetery, unnamed as far as I know: from the right turn in Thompson discussed above, proceed about 3 to 3 1/4 miles to a crossroads, and make a left; the old cemetery is about 3/4 to one mile down on the right, just past the barn on the right. There are about 30 - 40 sites in that old place. There is also a newer cemetery, also on 171, just before you enter Thomson northbound. Hope this helps. > Date: Sat, 7 Aug 1999 13:37:18 EDT > To: [email protected] > > I can anyone out there tell me where Thompson Susquehanna County is and what > cemeteries are around it.
