    1. Civil War Monument
    2. Is this Civil War Monument for the County, or one City or Town. Does it represent all Civil War soldiers who fought in the CivilWar for Susquehanna County. Do the names on the Monument, which are few, represent all the units in the Civil War fot the County. I know of one unit that fought in the Civil War from the county that had 25 men die in the war. I did not see any of there Names as beinging listed on the Monument. The unit was Co."B" 17th Penna Vol Cavalry, commanded by Captain David E. Whitney. The Company had fought in 89 engagements. From Occoquan, VA Dec. 25, 1862 to Appomattox Court House, VA April 9, 1865. And this unit also found itself engaged in heavy fighting on the 1st days battle at Gettysburg July 1, 1863. Thanks Hal
