I am a new subscriber to "[email protected]" and noted w/ interest Mr. Sherwood's observations re ancestors in Lakeside and Thompson Run. Lakeside is about 6 or 8 mi west of Jackson, PA, in Susquehanna County, on route 492. Thompson, PA (it may have been called "Thompson Run" at one time, I do not know) is located about 6 to 8 miles east of Jackson, on route 171, accessible from Interstate 81, southbound, take the exit for Great Bend, 171 is a very pretty drive south through Susquehanna PA, into Thompson, down through Herrick, Forest City and Carbondale. Interestingly enough, my own Tyler ancestors were in Jackson and, before that, Herrick Center (also on Route 171), from about 1820, until they also moved to Binghamton, Broome Cty, NY in the 1890's. If any one has any details about Tylers from Otsego County, NY to Herrick, to Jackson, I'd be grateful. Thanks, and I'm glad to be aboard! Thomas E.
