First of all, I don't know about Charles and Martha, but I have HARRIS ancestors who were from England and then Dorchester, and Hingham MA in the 1600s. That might be a start for hunting. Here goes for the THATCHER (THACHER) and CARPENTER information that I have. This comes from various volumes of the New England Historical and Genealogical Register and various books on other families like TINGLEY and LANE. Both CARPENTER and THACHER families seem to be fairly well documented colonial New England families. There is even a Thacher Island off the coast of Massachusetts. The Harford Historical Society has some good information on both these families. Other people on this list will know more about how to contact it. I bought my books at the Orphan's School festival a few years ago. Anyway, dates, here we go. Obadiah CARPENTER born 16 Feb. 1707 Attleboro, MA Married 12 Dec. 1728 (presumably Attleboro) Died 6 Jan. 1764 Attleboro Parents: Obadiah CARPENTER, Deliverance PRESTON Wife Bethiah CARPENTER (notice the surname) born 23 Sep. 1706 died 15 Jan. 1788 in Foxboro, MA (go Patriots) Their child Bethiah CARPENTER born 6 Dec. 1729 Attleboro died 27 Jan. 1793 Attleboro Husband Peter THACHER born 25 Jan. 1716 Middleborough, MA married 30 Nov. 1749 Attleboro died 13 Sep. 1785 Attleboro Parents: Peter THACHER, Mary PRINCE So I hope that is a good start. I remember telling my mother that we had cousins who married one another and she hesitated a moment and said "Oh, that would explain Uncle Henry." Happy hunting. Peter Quigg Montrose, Pa.
