    1. Re: 1850 census data
    2. Hi, thanks for all your effort in getting the census pages online. I know about the illegible Clifford and Dundaff census. I have the CD's and was very frustrated that the very town I wanted could not be read. However - and this is why I write - somewhere out there in the great world of LDS and census tapes there is a copy that does have a legible Clifford. A few years ago SK Publications was doing some research for me and finally got a tape which they could read. Wish I could find out which one it was and I'd transcribe it myself! Here is what I got: Date: 98-08-11 13:37:17 EDT From: skpub@feist.com (SK Publications) To: suznkelley@aol.com S-K Research Report #22 11 August 1998 For: Susan Kelly (suznkelley@aol.com) Estimated Research Time: 2 hours 3. Then we found readable copies of both the 1860 and 1850 Census of Susquehanna County, PA, for Clifford Township. And we found Alanson HALSTEAD and family there both times. 1850 Federal Census, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania: Clifford Township: p. 347B: #80/82: Alanson HALSTED 58 NY Farmer $3000 real estate Phebe 52 PA Charles 20 PA Carpenter Mary 18 PA Silas 16 PA Sidney 3 PA #81/83: Richard MEREDITH 76 ENGLAND Farmer $1000 real estate William 30 PA Roxana M. 32 PA Freeona H. 6 PA Mary 31 PA Eber DIMMICK 16 PA p. 350: #115/118: John HALSTED 29 PA Farmer $1200 real estate Susan 28 PA Rachel S. 4 PA Charles D. 2 PA p. 360: #26/27: James HALSTED 34 PA Carpenter Eliza 30 NY Almira 12 NY Caroline 8 NY I'll see if I can get them to tell me which tape was good, if they know.
