    3. Thanks for the reminder about human activities not being confined to political boundaries, Mary Jean. Apropos: In researching ancestors in Little Meadows / Apolacon in the northwest corner of Susquehanna Co., I recently came across a reference to the fact that early on, these people would have considered Owego in Tioga Co., NY, their 'business center.' I had been assuming that they would actually have been using Binghamton, NY (in Broome Co.) as a 'source' city. I'm interested in finding newspaper references to births, marriages, deaths, etc. in the period 1865 - 1910. I will of course be checking in Tioga County now, but if anyone on list has any advice on this, I'd appreciate hearing it.
