Hi Jeanne-- If you mean DEAN rather than DEANS, here is a reference on pg. 537 under Massacres in Blair County. "About 1768, Adam and William Holliday settled near where the town of Hollidaysburg, Blair County, now stands.....In 1778 a party of Indians came to the house of Matthew DEAN in Canoe Valley, Catherine Township, Blair County, while he and his older children were working in a field, and murdered his wife and three small children. A young man named Simonton was at the Dean home at the time. He was taken prisoner and never heard of again. In September 1909 a monument was erected at Keller Church Cemetery memorializing this tragedy." There are three PARKERS in the index: Amos, Sgt. Michael, and William. Any of these yours? No Sterlings listed. Jean Spalding Barbour
