    2. Jan, I must tell you that your Grandfather Shay served in a great regiment, my uncle Anthony Myers served in that regiment it has become one of my best regiments and seems like the one I lean towards. I have the complete regimental history. Ted

    2. My gg Grandfather, Dennis Shay, was in Co. B. 17th Regiment of Penn. Cav. Vol. B. Enlisted 15 Sept. 1862, discharged 16 June 1865. Also, my gg Grandfather, Patrick Co(u)lter, was a 2nd Class Private in the Signal Corp, U.S. Army Volunteers, Cumberland Regiment, Chattanooga, TN. Any info on either of these? I have many regimental histories, and belong to some civil war data bases, plus Bates History of Pa Volunteers.     2. Has anyone heard of these families or have any information about them? FARGO, THATCHER, COMSTOCK, GRIFFIN, BENNETT, ALDRICH, JOHNSON, and HAMMOND. These are surnames of people that married into the TAFT family. I welcome anything that you may know. Cathy Midgett
