Thanks again Ted, and am also looking for Ford Chamberlin, (proper given name MAY have been Henry.) He probably would have been in PA regiment, if found. Thanks again. Jeannette
Thanks, Ted. My quest is Charles Prentice, Civil War soldier. He was in the 89th NY, however. Would you have anything on him? Jeannette
All I have is the surname: Gow or Gowe, I have not found any first names, but do know there were some Gow's that served in the Civil War. Thank you Rosemary (Gow) May
Dear Ted, My great, great grandfather, William E. Michael, served with the PA 171st Volunteers at Gettysburg. Do you know anything about him? Thank you for your offer. Jan, I must tell you that your Grandfather Shay served in a great regiment, my uncle Anthony Myers served in that regiment it has become one of my best regiments and seems like the one I lean towards. I have the complete regimental history. Ted
My gg Grandfather, Dennis Shay, was in Co. B. 17th Regiment of Penn. Cav. Vol. B. Enlisted 15 Sept. 1862, discharged 16 June 1865. Also, my gg Grandfather, Patrick Co(u)lter, was a 2nd Class Private in the Signal Corp, U.S. Army Volunteers, Cumberland Regiment, Chattanooga, TN. Any info on either of these? Thanks in advance for any info you may have and thank you for offering your services. Jan in Florida
Ted, Thank you for your offer...do you have information on Paul Simeon Marold? I believe that he volunteered from Wayne County, PA. Betty Short
Hi Folks, I am back again offering my services to anyone looking for someone that was in the civil war. Has anyone heard of these families or have any information about them? FARGO, THATCHER, COMSTOCK, GRIFFIN, BENNETT, ALDRICH, JOHNSON, and HAMMOND. These are surnames of people that married into the TAFT family. I welcome anything that you may know. Cathy Midgett

A few days ago I found this site for Translation of several languages. The site address: http://babelfish.altavista.com/
Mary Jean, Try www.babelfish.com, a translation site. Sometimes it works well, and sometimes it doesn't, but worth a try. Alice At 01:09 AM 6/24/00 -0400, you wrote: >Does anyone on list read German? TO: Mary Jean, I had college German, but too many years ago to reliably translate. However, I am ELCA Lutheran and have a church friend who is from Germany who could translate if you could get copies and email to me.
