Dear Jeannette, Thanks for the info. We are going to the SHS next Friday, August 4. Will check out their info, but I believe that my cousin has been trying to get this info from them with no luck. Thanks for the help. St. John's Parish Center 102 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna PA18847 1-570-853-4787 This is from a 1995-96 phone book, but don't think they moved the church or Cemetery ;-) but if phone number is changed it is because it is old. Cindy

Hi, I am trying to locate anyone researching the names Ruland and Gorton in Susquehanna County. My Samuel Ruland, born 1823 in Dutchess County, New York, was the husband of Mercy Ann Gorton. He died in Lenox Twp, Susquehanna County, 22 May 1895. He was the son of Christopher and Drusilla Gritman Ruland. I know he had several children. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pat Martin Kennedy Researching Kennedy, Ruland, Gorton. Gritman, Shiffer, Blanchard, Barber, Wilcox, Denn, Reedy, McMaines Also Martin, Morris Freeland, Parrish, Pritchard, Crim, Bainbridge, Bradford, Corbley. Criss, Dicken, Dye, Garard, Knotts, Meredith, Morgan, Nay, Prickett
Got it finally. Thanks. Will enjoy this site. Chris
Lerma, There are Bevan or Beavan (not sure which spelling), around Susquehanna and Great Bend in the 1800-1900's. Still there. Try Susquehanna Hx Soc. Monument Square in Montrose. Jeannette
Found I was unable to access the site. I use AOL. Chris

Holly, The cemetery still exists and is fairly large. I don't have the church's phone number offhand, but if you don't get it from anyone else, get back to me and I'll look it up. I got there fine. You might try this one. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pasusque/2index.html If you don't get a good screen, but the address didn't reject, click on your re-load button. Sometimes some browsers don't load the page right if you go there directly instead of thru a menu. Try going "up" another level - which would be http://www.rootsweb.com/ and see if you can get in thru a menu. Susan the nerd in San Jose
Hi everyone, Is anyone familiar with St. John's Cemetery in Susquehanna, Pa? My grandfather was buried there after he died in a WWII training mission. My mother never even got to meet her own father as he died when her mother was 4 months pregnant with her. I would love to go see his grave... Can anyone tell me if this cemetery still exists, and if it has a website? I cannot locate one. If not, does anyone know its exact address and/or phone number? I'm not sure how large it is - wondering if I'd need to contact the office first to find his grave before I drive there in person. Thanks so much for any help, Holly Knott in Bucks Co., PA HollyKnott@aol.com
I also tried it and it did the same for me He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
