Mr. Myers, Thank you so much for listing the Stocker's book website. I have been watching this list for 2 years or so and have never seen a reference to any of my lineage. This morning I reviewed the information and for Lenox and found several reference to my lineage and even found my gggggrandfather's name (Daniel Doud) in the "Lenox Taxables 1847". Thank you now I've removed a few bricks from the PA side of my family, and I have more places to look. Dave Williams
Hello all Just a reminder that the sections for the townships of Lenox and Gibson from Stocker's book are completely transcribed on the website http://www.dsdata.com.au/genealogy/nepa should help you find a link to the Stocker prages. The site project is to link family history lineage data to the census data for the area.... There will be a site update soonish. Enjoy Fred Myers fredwm@perth.dialix.oz.au
Hello list, Does anyone know if the Great Bend Baptist Church is still in existance in Hallstead, or where the church records might be located? Thanks, Alice
Jean, SPAULDING appears on pages 202 Elizabeth (Barry Croad), 428 Elnathan, 382, 673 George, 202 Joseph, 202 Ellen, 11 Simon, 502 Suel. SPALDING appears on pages 234,235,237 and Israel P. on 233. Hi Mary My Ross family is from Wayne Co., before that from Callicoon and Damascus NY..before that from Middlesex Co NJ. My Gr grandfather was the son of Phineas Ross. However my Gr Grandfather Ross did live in Hallstead for a few years and he had a relative..I believe a cousin, who lived there in early 1900's, his widow and grown daughter lived on Church St when I was a kid. Then there was another Ross family in Hallstead..think those 2 were also related. There was another Ross family in the Wayne Co area and they had several Davids in that family believe they married into the Keesler family.. My stuff is mostly all packed away and what is on my other computer is not accessible..my Save to floppy disk did not workout right. Woe is me! paula
I have a "Memorial" card, the kind that are printed and made available by Funeral homes. It reads: In memory of Rozillah Clendenning born June 8, 1865 died July 24, 1951 Services from Ball Residence Clergyman Officiating Rev. David A. Dawson Final Resting Place McKune Cemetery I believe the BALL residence referred to was that of Frank and Eva (Clendenning) BALL. and further that Rozillah was Eva's mother. Eva Clendenning was a cousin of my grandmother Mabel Elizabeth Alt and I am hoping to shed new light on my own ancestry by learning more about Rozillah. I'm hoping someone on the list can help me find the obituary in order to find out more about Rozillah's roots. Can anyone point me to the correct newspaper? Roger Walter

Mary Jean, are there any STERLINGS in the book? Mel melmac7@earthlink.net
May I make a suggestion out of experience? When requesting a lookup from someone so generous as to take the time to offer and look, please dont give just a surname. One surname could have 50 first names listed under it. I made the mistake of trying to look for all the names for people and I would feel bad if I didnt write everything down in case I missed someones ancestor. It is so much easier, at least for me, if someone would give a first name to go with the last. Even listing a name of a child would help if you dont know parents. Food for thought, Thankyou, Mary Jean >From Cemetery to Tree My Pennsylvania Roots http://home.stny.rr.com/brown/index.htm Researching: Brown, Wilmarth, Tewksbury, Tiffany, Squires, Perry and others.
