1. Re: Grandmother's Recipe
2. Can you remember any more of the ingredients? Nuts, berries or other fruit or whatever? I may be able to do a recipe lookup for you, but I have a feeling that the name of the recipe has more to do with where it came from rather than the original name-sort of like our family's "Rosie's Rummy" hehehe. 3. Cindy: From the four corners in downtown Gibson, the road going south shortly becomes long, rather steep with curves ,leading toward South Gibson. That hill is Burg Hill.I do not know why it was named. In the 30's when cars were few, it was the best place around to" ride down hill" on a sled. 1. Grandmother's Recipe
2. I know this may not be on topic but I have been trying to locate a recipe of my Grandmother, Lula Walker Chandler, who was born and lived in New Milford for many years. She called it Jarvis Pudding. It was a steamed pudding which she served with a clear vanilla sauce. I'm sure it was a local recipe that had been passed from one mother or grandmother down and possibly among neighbors. If anyone on this list has heard of this dessert I would dearly like to have the recipe. I apologize to anyone that feels this request doesn't belong here, but I do not know where else to look anymore. Jan in Florida P.S. I just had my son set up a web site for me for genealogy related information. The link will is htt p://myfamilytree.hypermart.net.

3. I was to the Franklin Hill Cemetery in Franklin Twp. Susquehanna Co. Pa this weekend and saw many SMITH tombstones. Does anyone have any information on Erastus Smith born 1800 & his wife Irene THOMAS born 1805. Where are they buried? Ancestors, Descendants, etc. Did I over look them, is the Franklin Hill Cemetery tombstone inscriptions online? Mark

1. W Pa Detailed Genealogical Biographies
2. Greetings, This will be the last post that I will make for a long time, as I am drained from doing this project. On my site I have compiled the following information in my "All Things Section" of my site located at: http://www.geocities.com/geojenk Be patient as I have a lot of great stuff packed on the pages till I can tweak them for faster loading. Detailed History of McKeesport, Pa Genealogy and Biographies of Early McKeesporters (These are very detailed genealogical biographies on close to 400 individuals that immigrated to McKeesport from other countries/states.) Pictures and Biographies of Prominent Early McKeesporters (Part of above) Western Pennsylvania Family Group Genealogies (Genealogical Biographies on close to 400 family groups that lived in Western Pa. Includes families country of origin where applicable) Biographies of Service Men (WWI) (Men and women who served in WWI from the W. Pa. Area. Detailed info concerning their service record and also a lot of their pictures.) Pictures of Life in 1900s - Western Pa. (Close to 60 pictures showing how life was in W. Pa. during the beginning of the 1900s. There are some people on these pics that may be reconizable. Some immigrant group pics.) Please remember these sources of info are not related to my family research efforts. I have done this project with the intention of sharing the info. I get no financial gain from this effort as my site sells absolutely nothing. Good Luck!!! 3. Elaine, Now that you mention it, it may have happened to me from time to time. I put it down to the fact that I'm on many lists and often run down them quickly, deleting messages that don't concern me. Then I see a reply to a question that I don't remember seeing. I'll try to be more observant in the future. 3. Hi! Re below, rec'd Ann's post, but never rec'd the post to which she replied -- from "Michael Hurdle." This "missing post" problem happens more than it should, and it is occurring more frequently. It is distracting no matter what the topic, but in this case, since we have BENNETT/HINE in the general area, it's just plain annoying. This also occurs on one of our other RootsWeb lists, and affects the majority of subscribers. Are any of the rest of you missing posts? Hope this gets solved. Thanks for your help! 2. Scott J. Phillips
3. I am searching the Phillips' family line in Susquehanna County. My grandfather was Murvington Willard Phillips(3 Apr 1916 to 3 May 1990) who married Ruth Slocum. I believe his father's name was Willard Phillips (who possibly was a twin) and married a Lavina Rose ?(unsure of maiden name). My grandfather (Murvington) lived most of his life in the Susquehanna township. Any information anyone can give me about ANY Phillips in Susquehanna County (and I do mean any) would be greatly appreciated. Scott J. Phillips

3. The PA Vital Records Department is in New Castle. Suggest you bookmark http://vitalrec.com/index.html, which provides information on finding vital records in every state. However, between 1893 and 1906, death records were kept by the county and would have to be obtained there. After 1906, New Castle is the place to go.
