Among my aunt's estate articles, I found a newspaper obit. from "The County Record", Hallstead, PA, November 24, 1922. The obituary headline reads" Hundreds Pay Tribute at Funeral of David Nelson Hardy, in honor of New Milford's 'Grand Old Man'". Services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church in New Milford. My grandfather, the Rev. Ivan Lott Snyder, was the pastor of that church at the time and gave a eulogy which is printed in the paper. I suspect that is why my Aunt had the newspaper clipping. The obituary lists five sons as pall bearers: Samuel J.; John S.; Harry A.; M. Clyde; H. Claude and a nephew, Ralph I. The article mentions his record in the Civil War where he was a member of Company A., 107th PA Volunteers. Quite a long list of friends and relatives who attended is included. Tuttle and Hoffmire were the funeral directors. Interment was in the Tower Cemetery, West Lenox. If there are any descendents out there who would like a copy, I would be happy to oblige. Perhaps the original belongs in the Susquehanna Co. Historical Society. I would be happy to do that the next time I go to Montrose. Any thoughts?? Diana Snyder Luellen, Elmira, NY
Anyone know what time Harford fair closes today? - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Researching: Brown, Tewksbury, Wilmarth, Tiffany, Tingley, Squires, Sterling all from Susquehanna Co., Pa. http://home.stny.Lrun.com/brown/index.htm http://members.xoom.com/mjwanc/~index.htm http://members.xoom.com/Will2me/w~index.htm
Yes Sandy, It does cool off at night. You know, speaking of soldiers from PA, in the G.A.R. plot my hubby and I are doing brick repair on, there are some soldiers from Pa., some are Civil War Veterans, Regular Army Veterans, Spanish American War Veterans, and I do have extracted obits and some military records for these men. Capt John Cullom, 145th PA Inf. Co B., wounded at Fredrickburg, was at Gettysburg. Dunham Srackengast, 2nd Ohio Artillery Vols ( actually from Ohio, but I have seen someone with this name respond to the list) George Wagner, 68th Pa Vol. Co F, regular PA army from 1886, to 1891, military headstone missing, will be replaced. Gus Harlacher, 6th US Art, Spanish-American War, from Wilkes Barre, PA Will share info with anyone interested Laura Tyler Yuba City, California [email protected]
I suggest anyone with an interest in the Irish Catholic families who settled in Middletown Twp and Silver Lake Twp in the 19th century obtain a copy of the just published Curley family reunion book, it has a weath of information. I believe the Historical Society in Montrose has a copy but you can order your own by sending $22.50 to Ms. Mae Poch, 2015 Main St., Vestal, NY 13850 payable to Curley Family Reunion. Some of the names appearng in the index include: Curley, Conboy, Golden, Guiton, Foster, Murphy, Degnan, McCormick, Bergin, Jones, Foley, and Purtell,
I have hda messages from some people looking for men in the 109th during WW1, I did get some names, but when i went back to respond the messages had been dumped. The following is a list of names Wallace Bateman Brown Shaw Gallagher Lord Coyle Anthony For more information please contact me Thanks Ted

Hi, i would appreciate it if u would look up the Kennedy family in Tolland. Let me know when u can and thanks again. chuck
I am looking for records from a St. Andrews Church in Susquehanna Co. It was originally called St. Jude's Protestant Episcopal Church. In 1832 the name was changed to St. Andrews. I don't know if it still exists today or not. I believe that it was located in Springville. I am also looking for any known birth records for Niven (previously called "Fisk's Corners"). I am especially interested in the birth records for a Hyrum Oaks born on Sept. 7, 1824. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you, Debra Coe [email protected]
I Had message from someone who sent me a message looking foe a Bateman. I found a record of a Bateman, and I am sorry to say that he was killed the line of duty in France in 1918. 1st Lt William Bateman, Company L. 109th Infantry Killed in action 1918 I don't know if this is your Bateman. God Bless Him and may he Rest in Peace Ted

I have a search engine on my geocities site. You can type in the names and see if they are there. Do you know the companies these men served in? That would help in going through the paper copies.
