Don't know about PA but to order vital records from NYS Dept of Health is a lengthy process. In NY go directly to the town, village or city clerk. If anyone needs a town clerk's address, email me. Chris

I just want to thank everyone, especially Mary Jean, who responded to my query regarding burial of my Dad's brother who died as a baby. I am going to NY for a very few days and will be unsubscribing for awhile, but I will be back. This list has been so good to me and given me so much information. Jan in Florida
I went through some Broome Co., NY cemetery lists and found a lot of surnames people have listed on Susqehanna List. Broome Co., NY is the bordering county of Susquehanna, so maybe worth your while to check out some cemeteries there. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nybroome/brcemlst.htm I found Croffut, Thompson, Webster, Sweet, Blakeslee, Lotts and many others. mj - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Researching: Brown, Tewksbury, Wilmarth, Tiffany, Tingley, Squires, Sterling all from Susquehanna Co., Pa. http://home.stny.Lrun.com/brown/index.htm http://members.xoom.com/mjwanc/~index.htm http://members.xoom.com/Will2me/w~index.htm

Hello, I live in Bradford County and not far from the Susquehanna County line. In a church History book I have for Orwell Twp. I have the name Harriett Croffut and also a few listings for Doolittle. If they might help someone please feel free to contact me. Carol Jacobs [email protected] Mary Jean wrote: > Harpur Cem., Town of Colesville, Broome Co., NY > > Joel B > Joel B. To All, Everyone knows I will help answer any questions I can. But tidbits I put up on list are just that. They are bits of information I jot down when researching my family tree. I feel they can be beneficial to others so I put them on list. I however, do not have more, other than what I put up. I have a ton of information I am trying to type up to place up on my website, so please bear with me if I do not offer lookups in the near future. A lot of information I have may be the answer to a lot of your questions. I also am in the process of changing over my url since my server says I have until the end of this year to do so. That means I have over 300 pages on my website I have to change email addys and links to. I apologize for the disruption, but you will still be able to access my pages under old url in the meantime. Keep on searching, have fun, and never give up. Jan.. In my book "A History of New Milford" 1959....I find one chandler, Seth...nothing else. Would he be buried close to there in another cemetary? Janet
There are several Cemeteries in New Milford, what one exactly is it? Is there any kind of marker on grandparents? mj - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Researching: Brown, Tewksbury, Wilmarth, Tiffany, Tingley, Squires, Sterling all from Susquehanna Co., Pa. http://home.stny.Lrun.com/brown/index.htm http://members.xoom.com/mjwanc/~index.htm http://members.xoom.com/Will2me/w~index.htm

I have reached a "what do I do next" point. I have tried everything I can think of. I requested copy of obituary for my Dad's (would have been older) brother Lynn Walker Chandler born 16 October 1901, died 2 April 1903 from Shari at Courthouse (not available), I have written to the Funeral Home currently in New Milford (no response so far). Spoke with sextant of New Milford Cemetery who said there was no record of him being buried there (I visited the gravesite with my grandmother and father many times) My grandmother said he was buried beside my grandfather who is listed as having been buried there. A kind soul offered to check the Historical Society and could find nothing there. I understand there are no microfilm copies of any of the New Milford newspapers for past years so can't look for an obit there. My purpose in finding Lynn's burial place is two-fold : genealogy of course but primarily because there has never been a gravestone on the site and I desperately want to do this for my grandparents and little Lynn. I am open to any and all suggestions but living in Florida makes it difficult. Jan in Florida
