    1. [PASNYDER-L] Re: DUCK, MARY - SNYDER COUNTY
    2. PEGEBEE
    3. Looking for a connection to Mary Duck, probably circa early 1800's possibly 1816-1820. She was the mother of my GGrandfather Joseph Asher Lumbard. I don't know why their names were different. She may have been a remarried widow, but "Duck" is the only name I have for her. Joseph Asher Lumbard was born in Selinsgrove, Snyder County. I do not know his father's name. I am assuming the surname was Lumbard. I know Mary Duck was still living during the Civil War years. I am in possession of a letter written by Joseph, while at an encampment in VA, to his mother, Mrs. Mary Duck which was hand delivered by Mrs. Davis who was probably related to Capt. Charles Selin Davis by marriage or by birth. Capt. Davis was in command of Co. G. 147th regiment, PA Volunteer infantry a Co of volunteers from Selinsgrove, Snyder Co. Joseph Asher Lumbard later became the Publisher of the Snyder County Tribune and owned and published that newspaper for nearly 40 years. If this sounds familiar to anyone and you can help me, please E-mail. He died in 1915. In Appreciation ..... Peggy
