Hello! My name is Kristie Kuzniar, and I am an amateur, but I really enjoy genealogy. I have been doing this since May of this year, when I was VERY pregnant and bored out of my mind. I have always been interested in my heritage, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon the Greene Co. (PA) Genealogical Society's homepage that I found how fun it was to do over the Internet. I was born in Waynesburg, Greene Co., but my family seems to have moved in from every other county in PA. I have been fairly successful with a few branches of my family--Yoders, Zufall, Vance--but I am still struggling with a few. My involvement with Snyder County comes from my search for the Brouses. My mother's biological father was Robert Jackson Brouse, Jr., but we never had much contact with him through the years, so what I do know is mostly from obituaries and funeral cards. My grandparents divorced in 1962, so my grandfather never got to share family secrets with me. I asked for his help, and I think he was compiling information for me, but he died of a sudden heart attack in November. I will share what little I have, in case anyone knows anything about this branch of my family. The farthest I can go back is to abt. 1860. Casper Sowers m. Lucy Cardell; Their dau. Bertha Sowers (1882- 1978) m. Paul Hoffman (d.1933)---Bertha remarried Roy Plummer; Margaret Elizabeth Hoffman (1911-1991) m. Robert Jackson Brouse, Sr.--they resided in Selingsgrove, Snyder Co.; Robert J. Brouse, Jr. m. 1956 Dolores Jean Yoders at Patuxent River Naval Base, Patuxent River, St. Mary's Co., MD-- they had one dau., Lori Ann Brouse (my mother),and divorced in 1962; Bob remarried in 1963 to Gloria ? and had one daughter, Karen--Gloria still lives in Sunbury, Northumberland Co., where she lived with Bob. Bob has a brother Paul in Middleburg, Snyder Co., and a sister Brenda in York, PA, but I have not been able to get any information from them. If anyone recognizes anything, please write me!
