I am looking for the parents of PELEG M. RUMFIELD who was born March 25, 1818 in Pennsylvania. I do not know which county he was born in but he was called the "Pennsylvania Dutchman" when he later went to Ohio. An article written about Peleg, many years after his death, in a Southern Ohio newspaper, indicated that both he and his wife RACHEL PETTIT were "Pennsylvania Dutch". There were Rumfields in Lehigh and Northampton counties, but I have not been able to connect Peleg to any of them. Rachel Petit was born October 17, 1819. I have very little information on her family and would like to find out who her parents are and where they were from. I am reposting this because I have subscribed to several new lists.
