My name is Jeff Riegel and I live in Dallas, GA. just west of Atlanta. I just recently got involved in genealogy, about three weeks ago. I was born in Elmire N.Y. but move to Selinsgrove PA. when I was 1. I lived there until I was about 10. I have very deep roots in Snyder County and some of the surrounding County's on both sides of my parents. The main surnames I am researching from Snyder County are RIEGEL, ROWE, TREVITZ, YERGER, RENNER, JENKINS there are many offshoots TROUTMAN, ARBOGAST, AUCKER, FAUST, BICKHART, FOLTZ, GODFREY, GUYER, HALLENBACH, HEMPLE, HUMMEL, MULL, STROUP, WILLHOUR and WOODLING most of which are in or around the state of PA. and many have roots back to Snyder County. My Father Jack L. Riegel grew up in Selinsgrove and Hummels Warfe area. My mother Nancy ROWE Riegel grew up in Selinsgrove. Her mother was a TREVITZ and my father's mother was a RENNER. I work in Computer Software and am currently beta testing Windows 98, I am using Family Tree Maker Deluxe 4.0b to track my genealogy. I have the Social Security Death Index for the United States from 1937-1996 on CD. I just recently sent away for a book on the RIEGEL'S and subscribed to a RIEGEL'S newsletter. Census Index for 1870, Church Records: Selected Areas of Pennsylvania, 1600s-1800s and the Pennsylvania Vital Records, 1700s-1800s all on CD. I will be happy to do lookups. As a side note, I met my second cousin first removed just recently through this list. Currently I am stumped on finding Information from Samuel H. Trevitz who was a resident of Middleburg but I'm not sure if that's Snyder or Union county. If so let me know and I will supply more Information.
