He r. at Millheim in present-day Summit County, Ohio, operating a sawmill and clearing and selling farms. He and his family spoke only German. His history and that of his wife and family appear in "Sam Myers and Lydia Horner: Their Ancestors and Descendants," by Forrest D. Myers (Harrisburg, PA, 1979). Mary: Mary is daughter of Simon Stahl, b. ca. 1785 in Franklin Co., PA, d. Nov., 1865, and his wife Deborah, b. in 1791, d. 21 Feb 1852, m. before 1813. Simon Stahl is first child of James Stahl, b. ca. 1761, d. 13 April 1808 in Boardman Twp., Trumbell Co., OH, buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Poland, OH, and his wife Anna Maria ("Mary") Simon, b. ca. 1760 at Shrewsbury, York Co., PA - James and Mary came from Guilford, Franklin Co., PA to Boardman Twp., then in Trumbell Co., OH and bought land in 1802. Lydia: Lydia's final years were spent with her daughter, Ella, near Ravenna, OH. She was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with tragedy and hardship. Her granddaughter, Beatrice Christlieb, described her as a large woman, very tall, very beautiful and very gracious. 3 Eve Moyer Married Benjamin Weaver.
