Sandra, I think you will really enjoy the Snyder Co. Historical Society. We were there a couple of years ago and found the staff to be so willing and eager to help. It seems like it is only open certain days of the week, maybe two or three days, so check that out ahead of time. If you have a little extra time, drive east from Middleburg on Hwy 522 about 10 miles to Selinsgrove, go to the old downtown area and cross the little bridge to the Isle of Que, formerly called Weiserburg. (As I recall Pine St. leads to the bridge.) We spent a memorable afternoon walking along the banks of the Susquehanna River. It was lovely. I hope I have another opportunity to visit someday.
