David Hassinger lived in Union County, Middle creek Township in 1850. Age 34, he is married to Margaret age 22 - both born in Pennsylvania. Children in the household are: Amanda age 10, Allen age 8, Samuel age 5, Isabella age 1. Also in the household is Henry Aurand, age 14. No occupation is shown for Henry so perhaps he is related to Margaret. There are a number of Hassingers in Union County in 1850 that could be David Hassinger's father. You will need to do some research in probate and other records- hopefully that will help you determine David's parents. I ran across David, age 64, m. to Louisa (age 44), who has a son George the right age. All I've been able to find on this David Hassinger so far is that he had at least one previous wife - Rebecca - and several children with her. At the time of the 1880 census, he was 64 and a farmer. There were 3 children living with him at that time - Ammon (16), George (8) and Sallie A. (8 mths.). > > George Hassinger listed no parents on his marriage license application (m. Sarah Long in 1891), and listed Monroe Twp. as his home. The David/George above are listed in Middlecreek Twp. in 1880, which is very close. > > If anyone has any more detailed info on David, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I believe I finally have the right family here and will be going to Snyder Co. in about a month to dig a little further.
