    3. Carl we have Tax Lists - Cumberland County -1768-1768-1770 by Merri Lou Scribner Schaumann On this list we have Michael Egulph (we assume Egolf) listed on Penns Rates - tax list for 1770. 300 L on Middle Creek. This seems to be present day Snyder County and if so this Middle Creek flows into Penns Creek and thence to the Susquehanna River. a.. I am told that Snyder Co. land records go back to 1855 when Snyder was formed from Union Co. b.. Union Co. records go back to 1813 when Union was formed from Northumberland. c.. Before Northumberland Co. was formed in 1772, this area drained by Middle Creek lay near the border between Cumberland Co. and Berks Co. I know you have a lot of information on the Egolf's - I think of this area? Do you have anything on this Michael? Do I have the correct Middle Creek? This seems to be way out of way in time and place to be the Michael Egolff born October 2, 1725, in Engstadt - I suppose it could be the Michael born November 23, 1756, but I wonder what he was doing there and what happened - why did he leave? He seems to have property valued at 300 pounds? But no cow no horse. That means no family. In what land office is this property recorded? I can't find it in Cumberland or Snyder? I would appreciate your comets Carl - thanks for past help - and best regards Hal
