    3. This is strictly not a genealogy question but is certainly is related to it. In going over my great great grandfather's family there were four children who died, also their Mother, within a four month period. The year was 1878. The place, Penns Creek. Does anyone have records that would indicate what disease was prevalent at that year of History. I tried the local medical society but no one had any records or knowledge. I am asking incase someone out there has an answer. Larry

    3. I don't know about 1878 but I had the same problem with a group of family all dying within a few weeks in 1898. I finally found out it was typhoid fever.
