Divina Johnston et al: I suppose you know there are zillions of Snyders around, a few of whom settled in Pennsylvania, Berks County especially. And of course Berks was split off Lancaster then further divided into several others, including Northumberland, Snyder etc. All this means is that if you want to go back into the 1700s, you will need to look at Berks, Lancaster, and Chester Counties. Northumberland itself was split into other counties after being split off of Berks (if my memory serves me well!).
