Albanus' mother was Louisa Kirk from Upper Dublin who married Thomas Shallcross Snyder who was either from Byberry or Upper Dublin. The Kirks were Quakers and prone to name children after other members of the family. Franklin Kirk would have been Albanus' cousin. Franklin Kirk's mother was Caroline Kirk (who had Franklin out of wedlock). Albanus' middle name was Hallowell - and I notice on the census that the Hallowells were listed right above your Snyder family. In addition, another one of Louisa Kirk's sisters married a Hallowell. There is good information about this family in the Kirk Family Geneaology, which was writter by Miranda Roberts around 1900. All these Quaker families (particularly in Upper Dublin, PA), intermarried because it was frowned upon to marry outside the faith.
