I just wanted to inform any list members who are using hotmail/msn email addresses that Rootsweb has been receiving many, many bounces from these email addresses. I would guess, on a daily basis, I have at least four to five bounces from at least five members. I am hoping this email will make it through so those members who are affected, will even know about this problem. Two things to keep in mind as a result: 1. After a certain number of bounces, email addresses are automatically deleted from the list. 2. You have definitely missed list and query page posts. If anyone is changing from one ISP to another, please let me know, and I can manually unsubscribe and subscribe you. Thanks, Vanessa PASnyder-list mgr
I'm always poking my nose in my Snyder County Marriages book when I see someone post a marriage without a date (just to see if I can help) and found the following on David Bowersox: by Rev Shindel Jr. 24 Aug 1845, David Bowersox to Lucy Ann Yerger, both of Centre Township. Hope this helps with a date but noticed her last name is different. Vanessa PASnyder list mgr

Hello once again Larry, I have a great-great grandmother named Julianna Bingaman born 3/8/1824 in Union (now Snyder) Co. died 2/20/1887 in Monroe(?) Twp., Snyder Co. My records show she was the daughter of Yost Henry Bingaman (1785-1845) and Catherine *unknown* (1786-1857) and the granddaughter of Frederick Bingaman (1755 -1845) and Maria Christina Hufnagle (1758-1818). Julianna married Samuel Smith on 25 Mar 1845. Their family Bible shows names for eleven children born to this couple, but the name Julianna does not appear among the names. I have 314 descendants and 153 spouses of descendants for Julianna & Samuel Smith. Are you able to tell me the relationship between my Julianna (Bingaman) Smith and your Julianna Bingaman who married Cyrus Bowersox in 1872? My guess would be that my Julianna might be an aunt of your Julianna. What do you think? Nelson R. Does anyone have any info on the Brown's of Snyder Co., I know for sure at least the Shamokin Dam area? I have Charles and Sallie (Sarah) Eshelman(d) married in Sunbury with children Arthur, dob 6/2/1877; Bertha Lillian, dob 12/1/1882; Charles Isaac, dob 10/21/1885; Daisy Annie, dob abt 7/27/1880; Ida F., dob 11/11/1875. Most of these, if not all, were born in Shamokin Dam or the immediate area. I am a desc of Arthur and have nothing past his parents. With this last name, it is also obviously hard to follow their trail (or even pick it up sometimes!). One side note is that my father has the original scale model of an 1873 patent for a floating sawmill with "I. Brown, 1873" engraved on a metal plate. I have not been successful with the patent info through various agencies in Washington but hope to get some info on this person who is believed to be an Isaac. I believe there might be a family tie with Ida Clement, owner and operator of a mill in the Sunbury area, but have not had time to pursue that avenue yet. Does anyone have any info? I know at least some of these people are buried in the West Side Cemetary. If I wrote the Snyder and Northumberland Co. Historical Societies do you think I'd have much luck. I have had great success visiting the Cumberland Co. Hist. Soc. and limited success with the Dauphin Co. H.S., but have never written to one. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully there is someone else looking for the Brown's, Eshelman's or Wesner's in this area although to date I have found NONE! Thanks in advance!
