The church just celebrated it's 225th anniversary. The cemetery is well kept. As far as someone there doing look-ups I am not sure. The Snyder Co. Historical Society may be able to help you. There is also a Snyder Co. Web site that has a great deal of information. The book Snyder Co. Pioneers by Fisher mentions a Casper Arnold Sr. and some other Arnold family members. I have a number of reference books at home but don't get a lot of spare time for lookups for others. If I come across anything in my own search I can post to you again.

This is my first attempt at trying to get some birth and death records for my ggggrandparents who died or passed through Centre and Penn Townships between 1795 and 1810. Since I'm a novice at trying to find any information in Snyder Co., I'm hoping someone could help: John Grof (Grove) was born abt 1775 in Earl Twp., Northumberland Co.,PA and Linn's History of Centre and Clinton Co. notes that he died in Centre Twp., Snyder Co about 1809. He was married to Catherine Stover (b. Aug 25, 1777 in Cocalico Twp., Lancaster Co., PA, D. Jan 12, 1845 in Centre Co, PA). They were married May 11, 1794, possibly in Snyder Co. They had the following children: Christina Grove (b. June 30, 1795 in Centre Twp., Snyder Co), John Grove (B. March 31, 1797 in Centre Twp., Snyder Co), William Grove (b. April 21 1799, place unknown) and George Grove (B. Oct 25, 1800 Penn Twp., Snyder Co.) The 1800 census of Penn Township, Northumberland County recorded John Grove (over 26), and wife (under 26), with 4 sons and a daughter all under 10. It is surmised that when John Grove died in 1809, the grandfather, William Stover (Stober) and grandmother (Anna Christina Long) took their daughter (Catherine Stover Grove) and 4 grandchildren and moved to Haines Twp. in Centre Co. From this point on, I have much information on the family. If any of these names (GROVE, GRAF, STOBER, STOVER, LONG) are familiar to anyone re Snyder Co, or if I can get some direction on where to get birth and death records dating between 1795 and 1810 around Centre or Penn Townships, I would appreciate the help. I believe they would have been of the German Reformed/Lutheran Faith. Liz Jones Boalsburg, PA ljones@ceinetworks.com --part1_123.c471ddb.29a9a2d8_boundary--
