    2. Sidney G. Dreese
    3. Hello Nelson, According to _The Story of Snyder County_ by George Dunkleberger there is a short paragraph. "PENN AVON is a small village located about a mile northwest of Selinsgrove on route, Number 204. It's original name was Kreidertown after a family that formerly resided there. Then it became known as Longstown for the Long family. In course of the years, it became commonly known as Dogtown because so many dogs barked when wagons and other vehicles passed through the village. About 1923 Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Drumm conducted a general store at the place, and upon their suggeston, the village received the more suitable name of Penn Avon.
