    2. PEGEBEE
    3. Looking for connections to LUMBARD, Joseph Asher and wife Sara Scharf. Joseph was publisher and Editor of Snyder county tribune from 1874 to 1913. He died in 1915. I am interested in finding out names of of his parents and place of burial of all concerned. I have a name Mary DUCK or DRUCK and think it may be his mother, but don't know where the name LUMBARD came into being. Perhaps she was a remarried widow. My father is George W. Lumbard son of George Meade Lumbard son of Joseph. Joseph served in Union army during Civil war in Co. G 147th rev. PA Vol. Inf. Joseph retired from newspaper business in 1913. I have a letter written by him to his mother. I am interested in knowing where the LUMBARD family came from in Europe. I have always been told that we have a German background. I would grateful for any information that I can obtain through this posting. Peggy Lumbard Brill

    1. [PASNYDER-L] Re: update
    2. First, you should have sent that directly to Marc (only) because this is going to end up being a long thread. Also, I apologize to the lists in advance, but I think this was unfair to post in front of everyone and needs to be cleared up in front of everyone. Second, I am enjoying genealogy so much and enjoy doing lookups for everyone. Sometimes people ask me to look up entire surnames, but I don't question their motives. I would like to post to lists more often but don't because of remarks from people like you. I would like to vouch for Marc. He is a nice guy and we have swapped info "free of charge". I would tell you more about Marc and what he really does, but that isn't my place to discuss his personal business. You should have asked him yourself instead of causing a scene of the lists. Many people post to multiple lists. Some do it on a daily basis. I do genealogy every day, work with others on their genealogy, and am getting very good at it. My relatives send me money towards the research (I am a single mom of 5, not that its any of your business either) and others have sent me money to defray costs so I guess that makes me a professional "paid" genealogist!!! Gosh, now I have something to put on my job resume!!! Again, apologies to the lists and list owners. I try not to voice my opinion much, but I know this person and was outraged to find this in my email. 1. [PASNYDER-L] Surname Swarm
    2. Larry j. Sassaman
    3. I posted this in the past but there does seem to me many more persons monitoring this listing so I will post the question again. I have been trying to locate information on the Surname SWARM and so far have been unsuccessful. Is any one reading these listings familiar with that name? They lived in the Northumberland/Union/Snyder county, PA. area but which one at that time is not known. The time frame would have been between 1800 to 1850's. Just thought that someone many have that name in their genealogy listing and maybe could help. 3. Andy, I'll try to give you as much info as I can, without worrying to much about grammer of form. My name is Howard S Loitwood, Jr. I am 59 years old and I Live in Wexford, PA just noth of Pittsburgh in the winter. In the summer, I live in my hometown, Gettysburg, South Dakota. My mother was a Reichenbach, one of four daughters, so there will be no more Riechenbachs in my line. I have my family tree on a Machintosh computer, on a program called Gene 4.1. It is a very basic program that I found on shareware a couple years ago, when I first got a computer. I now have an IBM type computer as will, which I use for most everything else. I contacted the people who wrote the program at <[email protected]> I wanted to transfer the whole thing to my IBM. They sent me an e mail saying that I could by creating a GEDCOM format file with Gene's export command in the file menu. I have not been able to figure out how to do it. This sounds like the same thing you mention. I will be happy to share my info, if we can figure out how to do it. I have visited Chapman Township once. the Historical Society in MIDDLEBURG was very helpful. I made copies of a lot of things that had Reichenbach names on them. I suspect that the Reichenbachs, there may all be related, however, in many cases, the relationship link goes back to Germany, as with our ancestor. If yours came over in 1840-1850 and my John Reichenbach came in 1733 there will be no link this side of Germany. Our church was Grubbs church, near Pallas in Chapman Co What I have on Your Amos Reichenbach follows: From Gravestone records: St John's United Brethren Church, Chapman Twnsp. 1 AMOS REICHENBACH, Co. 2. Bud Keiser
    3. Seeking any info available on my KEISER ancestors: Peter Keiser, Jr. (1759-?) and wife, Gertrout, (1759-?) with children, Solomon, Peter, and Johann George, came to Beaver Township in 1801 from Macungie, PA. He owned 150-200 acres near Beavertown, and tax records show he was there thru 1820. Whereabouts from 1820-1830 are unknown. Peter, Jr. may have died in 1829 and may be buried in area. Solomon Keiser (1786-1877) purchased 222 acres of land just east of Freeburg in Washington Twp. in 1830. His children: George, Sophia, Rebecca, Lewis, Lydia, Washington, Leah, Levi and Solomon. His wife: Mary (Anne Maria) (1791-1858). Rebecca married a BABB. Daughter, Sophia, married a GLASS and had John Glass, Henry Glass and Lydia Glass. Sophia died before 1872. Daughter, Lydia, married a TYSON. These daughters stayed in PA. The rest of the family left the area for Uniontown, Ohio in 1832. Solomon and Mary died in Ohio. In 1874 the rest of the line moved from Ohio to Maryland and settled in the Bethesda-Rockville area. Any information on any of these people while in Snyder County would be greatly appreciated, and will exchange information.
