I have been looking for connections to Duck/Lumbard/Scharf/ and now would like to hear if anyone has a connection to Keller. My grandmother was Laura Keller Lumbard and she was the daughter of David and Elizabeth Keller. All families are from the Snyder County area. Laura was born in the late 1800's possible 1870's. I remember meeting an "Aunt Annie Keller and Uncle Will Keller" as a small child. I don't know if they were husband and wife, or brother and sister. Uncle Will Keller was probably brother to Laura. David and Elizabeth Keller may have lived in Washington D.C. in the early 1900's. David could have worked at the P.Office in D.C. and was probably a veteran of the Civil War. I appreciate any and all help.

George Troutner and his wife Anna Margretha lived in Penn's Township from the early 1760's to the late 1790's. They had five children, John, George, Jr., Jeramiah, Joseph, Mary Magdalene, and Margret. Jeramiah married Elizabeth Fips (Phips), Mary married Adam Stover, Margret married Casper Mogle. Who did George, Jr., John, and Joseph marry?

You might have some luck at the Snyder County Historical Society. They have a family genealogy on Hummels which includes many Gauglers. I copied a couple of pages that related to me, but didn't get them all. This might give you a start: George Gaugler (1782-1830) son of George and Magdalene Gaugler married Hannah Hummel (1785-?) He bought land in the Shamokin Dam area (now Monroe Twp. Snyder co) in 1805 and they lived there. There children were (as far as I went): Sarah Gaugler (1805-1902) m. George Keen Daniel Gaugler (1808-1858) m. Mary M. Matilda Gaugler Esther (Hester/Hettie) Gaugler (1812-1865)m. Henry D. Aurand [my ancestors] Elizabeth Gaugler (1814-1887 m. George Milhoff Mary Gaugler (1817-1872) m. John Gross Amelia Gaugler 1822-1904 m George Fisher That's as far as I went. The society may be able to give you the name of the submitter who may be able to give you some leads. Happy hunting!!! Lisa Betts PS. If anyone can give me definite proof (or even a vague idea I could research) of the parents of Henry D. Aurand (06/02/1813-09/01/1878), I would be grateful beyond words.
Hi everyone, I just was given quite the treasure... or at least it might be for some people. It is a huge book copyright 1911 Chicago, J.L. Floyd & Co. Yes, I know it's a familiar title to a lot of people... it's Genealogical and Biographical Annals of Northumberland County Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, it didn't help in my own search very much, but if anyone's interested in a family name, just tell me and I can see if it's listed. The book is nearly a thousand pages and I hope that if I can't find my own family in it, at least maybe I can find some of *yours*. I'm going to post this note on both the Northumberland and Snyder County lists since Snyder was formed from it. I also have the cemetery record for Zion Church, RD#1 Middleburg and can answer questions about that and extensive books written on the Hackenberg and Riegel families. In case anyone's searching the same lines, my list is: (Main list) KRATZER, WILL, RIEGEL, HACKENBERG (Secondary list) KUHNS, WAGNER, BINGAMAN, HOFFMAN, KLINE, MITCHELL, WALTER, MOYER, WERTZ, GOSS, DECKER (Names further back in time) HAAL, PLATTNER/BLATTNER, GERTRUITHA, HOENEN, WERNER, REBENTISCH, SIPHERS ------> Please respond to [email protected] Thanks! <------
I was looking through some of my grandmother's line after the postings on "Duck". I am currently concentrating on my grandfather's side, REICHENBACH, which is my name. Anyway... My grandmother's name was Florence Yost, b. 3/16/1914 at Kelly Point, d. 9/22/1978, Lewisburg. She had two brothers, William and Oscar. Her father was George Yost and mother Catherine Louise DUCK. Catherine was the daughter of Simon and Catherine L. Duck. Catherine Louise had two brothers, William and Oscar. This information is told by my grandfather, who died two years ago. I caught this name in your report and it looked familar. I believe I have a Gaugler in Snyder Co., PA. Have you ever come across a Lydia Gaugler (either born with the name or married into family) She was born around 1812. She married a Daniel Mitterling. She was mentioned in the will of Michael Gaugler as his niece. I actually have not done anything with this line and am not sure where it leads. I believe a daughter of Daniel and Lydia married a Ritzman, and that is what leads me to the name Gaugler. Any help would be appreciated. Is this name German? Do you know what part of Germany. How are you related to this name? I know it is a shot in the dark but it may be a connection. Thanks, Dennis

Looking for a connection to Mary Duck, probably circa early 1800's possibly 1816-1820. She was the mother of my GGrandfather Joseph Asher Lumbard. I don't know why their names were different. She may have been a remarried widow, but "Duck" is the only name I have for her. Joseph Asher Lumbard was born in Selinsgrove, Snyder County. I do not know his father's name. I am assuming the surname was Lumbard. I know Mary Duck was still living during the Civil War years. I am in possession of a letter written by Joseph, while at an encampment in VA, to his mother, Mrs. Mary Duck which was hand delivered by Mrs. Davis who was probably related to Capt. Charles Selin Davis by marriage or by birth. Capt. Davis was in command of Co. G. 147th regiment, PA Volunteer infantry a Co of volunteers from Selinsgrove, Snyder Co. Joseph Asher Lumbard later became the Publisher of the Snyder County Tribune and owned and published that newspaper for nearly 40 years. If this sounds familiar to anyone and you can help me, please E-mail. He died in 1915. In Appreciation ..... Peggy
I have a Mary Mitterling - From the book titled "Snyder County (PA) Marriages" from the Northumberland County Historical Society: According to the marriage records of Reverend J.P. Shindel, Mary Mitterling and William Ritzman were married by him in Centre Twp., Snyder Co., PA on June 12, 1951. I have her born May 2, 1825 and died abt 1909 in Orangeville, Stephenson Co., IL. I have no idea of her Ancestors and/or siblings. I am not sure of how if any connection, but the name (same) and county Snyder Co., PA connected for me. Mary may have been married before (my William was). I had another name Matter as a possibilty. I am not sure of anything else. Dennis Busic
