    3. Cynthia - My suggestion for Snyder Co. would be to go first to The Snyder County Historical Society, 30 E. Market Street, Middleburg, PA 17842 Phone: 717-837-6191. Their hours are 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. HOWEVER - if you call and request another time someone will come over and open for you. Very nice people and very friendly. The courthouse is just in the next block, and they are open every day at 9 or 10 a.m. Also very nice people. Good luck, Barb Cynthia Zieber wrote: > > I am going to be researching in Snyder County soon to try and find out more > informtaion concerning Frederick ZIEBER and his family. > > Because of changes in county boundaries that means going to the courthouses > in Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties. Is there anyone out there willing to check on things Logan, You have a great idea to add surnames to the web page for Snyder Co. Thank you for taking the initiative to make it happen. I have been doing research in Snyder Co. from a distance for years and have never been there; that being the case, there are several things that I would suggest as items to consider for this web page to help researchers: Maps which idenify townships, rivers, valleys, mountains, towns showing their previous names and dates when names changed; Cemetery and church locations and records; History of county, pioneers, factors that influenced the people; Surname message postable bullitin board; Here is an excellent county web page which could be viewed as something to shoot for, in my opinion: Chester County, PA: http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/mhharris/chester2.htm I certainly would be willing to help you in any way that I can from Texas because you certainly have helped me with my research in the past; if there is something that I can do or assist with, let me know. -- Best regards, Galen Hartman Dallas, Texas Web Page: http://www.usac.net/~ghartman/ "We have time for the most important things in our lives" Genealogical Surname Research in Adams, Berks, Centre, Northumberland, Snyder, Union, and York Counties, PA (1720-1870); Sandusky, Stark, Seneca, and Wood Counties, OH (1795-1930): ABELS, AIGLER, ALTMAN, BAKER, BEEHLER, BICKLE, BIERLY, BLACK, BOLIN, BONEWIT, BOWMAN, BUCHTEL, CANFIELD, DRAKE, DUNKIN, FAIRBANKS, FRY, FREY, HARPSTER, HARTMAN, HASSENPLUG, HATHAWAY, HUMMEL, KREAMER, MAIZE, McCREARY, MEYER, MOOK, MOWRY, ORWIG, REAM, SHAPIRO, SNYDER, THOMAS, VANDERSOL, ZANKLE.

Could you please resubmit them when I am ready with the page and the means by which surnames can be submitted to it? 2. Nelson R. Sulouff
    3. To Snyder Co. Rooters, Working on the history of the NOETLING Family in the USA, I have very graciously been given a yellowed, original photo of my 4th great aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth (Sulouff) Noetling, wife of Dr. William Noetling (1776-1861) of New Berlin. Letters written by Elizabeth's sons show she lived as a widow in Selinsgrove from 1862 until at least 1882. The photo is stamped on the back "Photographic Studio of Paul Kitzsteiner, Photographer, Selinsgrove Pa." Sometimes old files are passed down to successors in the photographic studio business, or purchased by another studio in the same town. Can anyone suggest how or where to search for 19th Century files of the Paul Kitzsteiner Studio in Selinsgrove? Does anyone know of a photographic studio in Selinsgrove that currently has E-mail? Thanking you in advance for any assistance or clues. Nelson R. Sulouff
