My father was Paul Herbert Rieker (1900-1995) of Corry, PA. His father was Paul Rieker (1855-1923) , born in NY I think, and his grandfather was Jacob Rieker (born about 1820 in Germany, died June 28, 1904 in Corry PA). Jacob had at least 6 children, his wife was Ursula ?. I wonder if you have any of these names in your Riekers. According to a German e-pal it is a "usual" name in Germany, but I don't find many fellow tree climbers. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, Arlene

    3. Bruce, It sounds to me like you have a copy from one of Charles Morgan's cemetery books. The numbers you refer to (1H29 or 1A07) are the row and stone numbers in the cemetery. There's a map at the front of the book showing row numbers. I don't have the book so unfortunately can't be of any help to you. 3. Hello, In one of my file folders, I have several dozen photocopied pages that have the heading, "Biographical Record of the Cemeteries of Beavertown". It has lots of good information concerning spouses and parents, but some of it seems to conflict with what I have in my family files from other sources. I would like to investigate some of these conflicts further. Is anyone else familiar with this reference? I can't recall where I obtained it. What larger work is it from, and who authored it? And, also, what is the key to the numbers on the right column of the pages(1H29 or 1A07, etc.). It's terrible when the ol' memory doesn't work any more. Can anybody help? Bruce Fosnocht

Today I pulled all of the Herrold's records from the 1850 and 1860 Chapman Twp. and Washinton Twp., Snyder Co. censuses. While I can identifie some (e.g. Henry Herrold, son of George Simon), most I can not. I would like to try to cross reference the records I can not identify with John Frederick's children. Jacque and I are descended from George Simon Herrold, John Frederick's brother. You and Sue are descended from John Frederick. Therefore we are all distant cousins<G>. Jacque and I are 5th cousins, you and Sue are most likely 6th cousins.
