Author: karenmeasel196 Surnames: Harron Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.schuylkill/11989/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Pottsville Republican Newspaper January 5,1894 School Director John Harron,an old and respected citizen of East Bacon Street,died last night from a complication of disease.He was taken ill on December 22nd,and has been confined to his home ever since.He had retired from active duty for some years.The deceased was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church of Port Carbon and member of Middleport Lodge of Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias of Port Carbon.He leaves to survive him a wife,five sons and a daughter;Samuel and Robert,of Palo Alto;William J.,of Port Carbon,and Alexander and James of Colorado,and Mrs.Isabella Murray of Palo Alto.The deceased had been mine foreman for James Oliver at Eagle Hill and Operator Barte at Mill Creek,thirty six years ago.The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with interment at Presbyterian Cemetery Port Carbon.
