Her one-sentence obit indicated she had several small children. Two of them were raised by family, and I suspect I have a trail on another one who ended up with a nearby family. (my GGrandfather moved to the city without the kids) Would there have been any formal records of adoptions at that time? I am both looking to understand the social history of the time, as well as potentially being able to find records of the children if at all possible.
