Author: karenmeasel196 Surnames: Duvak/Machinier Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.schuylkill/12051/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Pottsville Republican Newspaper Thursday February 17,2011 DAYS GONE BY 100 years ago-1911 Michael Duvak,a well known young man of Saint Clair,was instantly killed yesterday, only a few hours before his wedding to Miss Ella Machinier at Rahway,N.J.Duvak, who was 19 years of age,left Saint Clair on Sunday for Philadelphia where he spent the following day,and on Tuesday went to Rahway,where he was to meet his bride.About noon,he went to the station, and as the train upon which the young woman traveled pulled into the depot,he stepped across the tracks to welcome her and walked directly in front of a fast express train speeding in the opposite direction.
